# Help from our movie mavens

My You Tube search-fu is weak today.

I am trying to find the name of a female mongolian singer who started back in the early50s and was in one of those fantasy movies with a harem scene that was so popular in the late 40s into the early 60s. The scene on you tube i am looking for is from that movie and she is walking through the harem and singing.

From what I remember from some of the other YT vids I broused she is still alive and singing.

She’s not Mongolian but you don’t happen to be thinking of Yma Sumac, do you?

Yma Sumac appeared in 1957’s _[Omar Khayyam](http://imdb.com/title/tt0050799/)_. Could that be what you saw?
