# Help getting a video to play! (avi, possibly DIVX)

I have a video that won’t play with quicktime or Windows Media Player (The newest version). It is an .avi, and I wonder if it needs to be an .mpeg to play. When I play it, it says it is looking for the codec and only plays the sound and not the video. It may be DivX, but I have a codec, so it should work. Help me out please!

Also, sorry if this has been asked before.

Heh, a little searching, and I found out it was a DivX problem. Just downloaded a new codec. Mods, no need for this to stay open.
