Hmm, evidently these warnings were not understood by the Chinese manufacturers of the Glacier Bay mirror with D-Hooks that I bought at Home Depot. The two hooks on mine differed in distance from top of frame by 3/32 of an inch, more than enough to make the mirror lopsided if I would have drilled holes for my drywall anchors level. No way to excuse that kind of sloppiness unless they figured you would hang by a wire. So I drilled mine offset and it looks good. Hooks were also not the same distance from the left and right sides and I had to compensate for that too. Probably should have brought the darned thing back but I’ve been to Home Depot like ten times in the past three days.
If any store is used to customers making numerous visits in a short amount of time, it’s Home Depot.
On my mirror, I use 2 U channels, about 2/3 as wide as the mirror. The one on the wall faces up. the one on the mirror faces down. Mount the U channel to wall securely – find studs, etc. Mount the U channel to mirror securely also. Now place the outside of the mirror’s U channel into the one on the wall. The position of the mirror can be adjusted by simply sliding it in the wall’s U channel.
