The next morning, when I went to sit down at breakfast, I felt an odd itch in the base of my spine. Reaching down, I found the needle half embedded in my flesh.
Since then, I don’t sew in bed anymore.

Reminds me of being at a medical appointment and the nurse is at her desk talking to me and reaches up to her neck and pulls out an acupuncture needle they must have left in earlier in the day. Disconcerting to me but didn’t faze her at all.
