My hair is starting to get long and kind of messy looking, and I’m tired of the hair style I have now. For reference, [I look like this](http://pics.livejournal.com/nashiitashii/pic/0001rqz2/s320x240). [I also look like this](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v430/nashiitashii/FOTDs/100_4633.jpg), and in the past, [I have looked like this](http://pics.livejournal.com/nashiitashii/pic/00002tsf/s640x480). I’m tired of the length of my hair right now, and am looking for something that’s between 2-3 inches below my chin to collarbone length. I do have some ideas of what I like. [This looks a lot like what I have now](http://lh3.google.com/image/nashiitashii/RgA0JB6-MnI/AAAAAAAAACE/oNkjuBrBKcU/hair3.jpg?imgmax=144); I’m not too fond of it, but it’d do. I want something a little more creative, risky, and something that won’t look so damned boring and flat. (Note: my hair can actually do these super straight styles because it is super straight.) [I like this too](http://lh5.google.com/image/nashiitashii/RgA0Ih6-MmI/AAAAAAAAAB8/IKkcvubBe7M/hair2.jpg?imgmax=144), and it’s kinda cute. I’m not entirely sure it’s just right, though. [I really like this](http://lh3.google.com/image/nashiitashii/RgA0IB6-MlI/AAAAAAAAAB0/XEbmTkcTtVQ/hair1.jpg?imgmax=144), and I think I could get that texture with a bit of pomade and some simple hand styling. The key would be to reduce the weight of the hair to do that. [This](http://www.modshair.co.jp/hairstyle/img/img_style07.jpg) [is also](http://www.modshair.co.jp/hairstyle/img/thumb_style07s.jpg) [a major contender](http://www.modshair.co.jp/hairstyle/img/thumb_style07b.jpg) and would probably work really, really well. (The three links are three views of the same haircut on the same model.) What do you think? I don’t want “mom hair,” so boring, shoulder-length, one-length hair is out. It’s just going to make me look matronly, and I don’t want that right now. I really just need something different and I know that going super short is going to make me look inappropriately butch. ---

I like the last one; it will take the weight off the hair but give it more style. Are you thinking of changing the color? ---

[/QUOTE] If I change the color, I’ll probably be going back to hennaing my hair, which will take it to somewhere between auburn-brown and bright, natural copper red. However, it is dependent on a lot of factors, one of which is being lucky enough to get henna that’s actually reasonably fresh. Synthetic dyes tend to wreck my hair, so they’re a no-go. ---
