@Akaj and they’d graduated to Full Store which I visited on opening day back in November.
Whew! It’s over, and… I sold ALL my comics (2000+)!
My goal was decluttering, so I priced stuff to sell:
$2 (or 10 for $15, or 20 for $20!). A guy from a great store (Kowabunga Comics) asked if he could look while I was setting up Saturday morning, and he bought a couple hundred before the Con even started.
Then, Sunday afternoon, I asked him for a quote on everything that was left over. I was ecstatic when he agreed to take it all!
(My wife’s last words had been “So even if you sell a bunch, you’re going to come home with dozens of boxes, right?”)
HA! In yo’ face, spouse!
It was exhausting.
Now, I’d recommend any of the "Quad Con"s that travel through the midwest. Very well run, felt like a nerdy circus: LPs, cards, original art and books, comics, and a cosplay contest.
But I had to be an extrovert for two full days. And today, for some reason, was packed with mid-life guys who needed to tell someone about their obsessive collection (of southpaw umpires’ rookie cards, or only comics with locomotives on the covers, or Doctor Doom statuary).
That 30-something dad wasn’t a comics fan, but still had a shrine to Victor Von Doom in his living room. His wife just rolled her eyes…
Congratulations. Great job
Hey, you wished me good luck, how could it not work out?
