Help liberate me from Windows!!

Actually it prompted something about LBA mode when I was partitioning. It gave me the option modify the partition or add anyway. I picked the latter. Is it safe to assume that since my C drive is 20 gig, that it supports it? Or at least the option exists in the bios? The computer is only 2 1/2 years old.

As far as the progress goes, yes, I’ve gotten a great crash course on this in the past few days. Aside of not knowing which way to go at a couple of “forks in the road”, it’s sinking in. Since most of this has been hashed out, I’m ready to install and not look back, but I’ll do it tomorrow when the tech guys are back to keep an eye on me.

Thanks for everything, it’s been a big help.

I specify the partitions, go through everything, and then after it checks for bad blocks it gives me an “unhandled exception”, something to the effect of some kind of formatting error.

Any thoughts?

I only deleted the primary dos partition, should I zero the drive?

Success!

I used ext2 instead of 3, I don’t care why, all I know is it dual boots perfectly!

Time to enter the world of the penguin.

Thanks everybody.
