Here I am, happily surfing the web, listening to my favorite AM radio station, when suddenly- I get the DEATH RAY. See, I live on a second floor apartment on the same level as a lot of electrical wires. My guess is that during sudden power surges, my AM signal gets kicked out and I just get staic on my radio. Other times the signal is great.

Is there anything I can do with the radio to get the signal back? Or do I need to go to plan A: threaten to shoot everyone in my town if they do not turn off all their electrical appliances immediately.

Buy a cheap AM antennae and run it outside your building or tape it to a window.
