“Loan” it to an acquaintance who has an immediate need for cash until payday. Like, a single mom who needs a car repair, or a student going back to college. Even if you know they will never be able to pay it back, you’ll sleep a lot better than if you paid $300 for a night in a fancy hotel. ---

Sorry… didn’t mean to abandon a thread but real life got in the way for a bit. Already have a Kitchenaid stand mixer and also a meat grinder attachment so those are out. Works of art… I’ve actually got a couple of very talented kids who do ceramics. A Ukulele? I don’t hate my family that much. I’ve got more tools than I can ever use in a lifetime, including a Dremel and tons of attachments I’ve never used (but I’m sure I’ll need them some day). A round at the bar sounds good! I just need to find a small bar to get away with it for $300. Tickets to a game is a good possibility. The flight jacket sounds really good, but I don’t think I can do it for just $300 (but it would be a good start). Damn… why did you do this to me, I guarantee I’ll have a box coming soon with their logo on it. It doesn’t count as something fun though if it is just something I need to make it through the winter. I mentioned that I like to dump money into my mustang, so you can count on the fact it has already been tuned… there is a reason it has a Ford Racing plate bracket. I’m a cruiser, but it is a sleeper. Loaning it to a college student… I’ve got three of my own and I “loan” them way more than that all the time. Hookers and blow… sounds good to me, but the “Thank You” card to Mom may be awkward. If I had $300 to blow it would be on a Go-Pro camera. I really want one, but find it hard to justify the expense for the use I’d get out of it. (Running my non-competitive dog team) Next choice would be something adventurous like zip-lining or indoor skydiving, or maybe a horseback riding adventure. Fun things, but not in my budget right now. ---

As anyone who has ever “invested” in a car knows you will never get back what you put in. The good news is that my neighbor has a Wrangler and my son and his friends have helped him “invest” in it so we have easy access to it. He also takes my Mustang at times… the best of both worlds.
