Help me buy a swimsuit! Please!

I wonder if the suit you bought on ebay was a real speedo suit or an imitation that used lesser quality materials.

Two thoughts: One is what Zebra suggested and that you bought a knock-off version of a Speedo.

Second: the ad mentions that it was used. So you don’t know how old it was and if the previous owner took care of it. If they had worn it to the pool, let it dry and then boxed it up and put it in a 130 degree attic, then that would explain why your suit has deteriorated so badly. Even if it was taken care of properly, a 10 year old suit is going to deteriorate quickly.

Personally, if I was going to swim a lot, I’d go with Lands End or a reputable shop and pay $70 or so for a new suit.

So I suppose Wicked Weasel is right out, then?

It’s like a little piece of the Earth, as viewed from space. I can see my house from here!

I had a problem with a Land’s End suit but I think it was my fault, not theirs.

At the Y there is a little spinner type machine that will spin the water out of your swimsuit and I found that using it drastically shortened the life of my swim suits and stretched them nine ways from Sunday.

The next time I bought Catalina brand and didn’t use the spinner at the Y. The suit still fits beautifully and hasn’t stretched out of shape in the least.

Are you a member of Costco?

I have purchased Speedos there several times over the years. $19.99. I think I’ve seen them in the springtime. They are ordinary black X-back racing suits.

You know, I do put my suit in that spinner everytime I swim. I think I will skip that action with this new suit, it might be part of the problem.

As for the comments about my old suit, it was all but brand new when I got it. It looked and felt brand new, so I don’t think this was a case of any negligence on the part of the seller. I wouldn’t have worn some ratty old used bathing suit, that’s just not my thing.
