Help me buy shirts that fit

No offense taken Zsofia. I’m not exactly fashion forward, as they say. I just like to not look like a shclub when I go out. I just mention Sears because I’ve picked up some shirts to go with my suit from them before and was quite happy with what I found (I also prefer plain colours over those stripey ones that seem to be the popular look these days).

To the above poster, its funny you should mention your female friend. I was going to mention it in my OP that I know a number of petite girls who buy stuff from the kids section as well.

Then perhaps I should also tell you that if you’re wearing pleated pants, stop.

Trigonal, most guys I know your size either buy in the kid’s section, or go custom.

Don’t think you’re alone having problems finding shirts that fit though. Most men’s off-the-rack shirts are cut for someone who’s nine-months pregnant. I’m 5’8" and 145 pounds-- on the slim side, obviously, but there’s no reason I should be able to wrap a small shirt one and three-quarter times around my body!

Most stores (even Sears) offer tailor services, but they ain’t necessarily that great-- they’re better at hemming pants than dealing with anything serious. And you could custom-design a shirt, but that’s probably beyond your budget unless you specifically allot cash to it.
But odds are there are half a dozen tiny seamstress shops in your neighbourhood who can take in a shirt for $20 or less.

What about my fine brown belt and my lovely pair of matching brown shoes?
