If you mean eMusic, does this work?
Uh yeah :smack: Thanks! This is exactly what I needed!
I have Rhapsody which is put out by the Real Player people. What I really like about is that I can listen to my heart’s content to full length songs for 9.95/month. I can download and burn to CD for .79/song.
Works for me because they have a huge jazz catalog and I can listen to many, many different artists (some local and regional) performing the same song which is helpful to me in my continuing jazz education.
Emusic had a much smaller jazz catalog and I could only listen to clips of songs which I didn’t like as much.
Another satisfied eMusic customer here.
Sunspace, when I was shopping around for a music service I looked at the revamped Napster, and if I’m not mistaken, the songs are downloaded in some proprietary file format, so that if/when you stop subscribing to Napster, your computer is no longer able to play the songs.
That was a big plus for eMusic in my book: The files are plain old mp3s, copyable/burnable/indefinitely storable, etc. Another big plus is that once you’ve paid for and downloaded a song, you can download it again at no extra charge; this makes it simple to put your music on several computers, and if your computer crashes you can go get all your downloaded music again.
The drawback to eMusic is that their collection is mostly founded on a bunch of indie labels, plus a lot of classical and jazz; if this suits your taste (as it does mine), you’ll love it, but if not you’ll probably want to look elsewhere.
