You might try the British series based on the James Herriot stories, _All Creatures Great and Small_. I’ve no reason to think your parents would like it, apart from the fact that it’s what I’ve been watching on Netflix lately and it’s more subtle than it is stupid. Also if you want television in which the lead characters appear to sink their arms deeply into bovine orifices (in very believable fashion,) it’s the only game in town. ---
