# Help me convince my RM to get a Mac.

Oh come on. This is what you said:

Yeah, you did say, “Let him buy what he wants and needs”, followed by a snide mention of an “overzealous computer subculture” (i.e., the Mac). No conceding that _maybe_ a Mac could be considered as a viable alternative if variety was the goal (something which you doubted—basically, you thought the OP was being dishonest). But, just in case the OP isn’t **lying** (in your opinion) about the variety thing, you suggest, " If it was about variety why not suggest that the guy get a computer from Sun or installing a non-Microsoft OS on a PC."

Gotta be a PC-based computer, eh? Because if the roomie got a Mac (running OS X and Linux on a partitioned drive) that just wouldn’t do. Because it’d be part of an “overzealous computer subculture”. And this from, “raisinbread, a PC user.” Oh no, you’re completely open-minded there.

Oh, _sure_—let 'em choose. As long as he doesn’t consider one of those machines from the “overzealous computer subculture”!
