Help me fatten up my baby daughter.

Try eggnog.

It’s just about the most fattening thing imaginable and every kid I’ve ever seen has LOVED the stuff, the nonalcoholic kind you can get at the grocery of course.

Bacon might be good, my 15 month old loves bacon… and bananas… 95th percentile…

I think she might be the re-incarnation of Elvis.

My son was 10lb at birth and remained in the higher percentiles until about 12 mos. He then kept getting taller but his weight wasn’t catching up. I was a very worried mom and did a lot of what was already suggested. What worked for me:
-Pediasure/milkshakes before bed (so he didn’t have a chance to burn it off)
-5 or 6 “snack times” vs. 3 mealtimes (kids are grazers at this stage)
-filled him up on healthy snacks rather than sweets
-not getting too freaked out about the whole thing.
Weight fluctuations/growth spurts are normal at this age. As long as she is within range for her “growth curve” everything should be alright. Once my husband and I realized that we had been skinny kids, we calmed down alot. My son is now 2.5 yrs old
and while thin, is normal and healthy.

BTW, if any allergies/eczema/asthma run in your family you might want to be careful with the peanut butter. A peanut allergy can be generated. Peanut products aren’t recommended in children under 2; 4 if any allergies are present in the family.

Good luck with your little one,
G

We’re in the same boat. Our 30month old was 9lbs at birth and is now just about 26lbs. Again, she’s at about the 25th percentile.

I agree with Cranky re: drowning in fluids. We’ve TRIED to get her to drink less cow’s milk and juice and more water. It’s a battle to get her to eat. It seems to go in cycles where she’s got a pretty decent appetite and sometimes when she barely eats a thing for a day or two. It’s very frustrating.

I got some good ideas here, thanks all.

Make sure her iron is good. It boosts her appetite.

Then again, that may not be in good taste.
