I wouldn’t bother with a freezer. If you’re working a normal 8-5 schedule I think you may find that you’re going to have more than enough free time on your hands to stop at a grocery store after work and pick out something fresh that appeals to you. It seems like most grocery stores’ meat sections have with all sorts of ready to cook items like marinated chicken, stuffed pork chops, etc. Maybe shop for a night or two at a time. There’s really no reason to buy so much food that you’d need to freeze it. I do like the idea of a cooler. Not for freezing, but to use for drinks and overflow from the dorm fridge because it’s easy to max out the capacity of those things. Don’t get styrofoam, get a decent camping cooler and you should only need to replace the ice every couple days. Also, if the weather is nice where you are check and see if the hotel has a grill (some extended stay places do), or consider a small portable one.
