The book I’m remembering was about a family of children that were abandoned by their parents and eventually ended up in the foster system. The kids lived in a cornfield for a little while, until the cops found them. The oldest girl in the story was named Patty. It may have been based on a true story. I’d really like to read this book again, but I can’t remember the author or title & Google-fu avails me not. Help!
