I forgot where I saw it, but it involved champagne/sparkling wine and fresh lemons. Anyone else see it-- or just have a good recipe (everything I Google seems to be the standard vodka/sours mix combo)?

A lemon drop doesn’t have champagne in it.

Are you maybe thinking of a French 75?

2 oz gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
A sugarcube’s worth of simple syrup

Shake & strain into a champagne flute.

Fill with champage.

Twist of lemon.

I can’t check at the moment, but might you have seen it in this month’s **Living** (Martha Stewart)? I think I remember seeing a similar recipe in there. I love a really good vodka lemon drop “martini”, but they are seldom really good. Mostly, they taste like lighter fluid and I wake up with a splitting headache. The champagne version might be nice. If it turns out the recipe’s in there, I’ll post it for you.

[Here’s the recipe from her website.](http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=recipe2470&contentGroup=MSL&site=living&rsc=ns2006_r1) Might it be the same?

It wasn’t in this month’s Martha Stewart. Crap. Maybe it was last month…or one of the other 15 similar magazines I get…
☹

This Lemon Mimosa recipe uses fresh lemon juice:

Lemon Mimosa

Drop 1/2 oz. sugar syrup and the juice of one whole lemon
into a white wine glass.
Drop in half the lemon and top with 4 oz. champagne
