Does anyone remember this story?

We had a thread a while back in which someone told a story about quitting their job. IT job, they were the manager/team leader, their team had been resigning in droves and not being replaced and they were being hammered for not reaching targets despite working insane hours. Finally half way in a meeting where they were being berated for the whole situation they got a call offering them another job, immediately accepted it, quit and walked out.

My Search-Fu is not strong today…

It sounds vaguely familiar, like something that might have been in our still-going-strong [workplace griping](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=585296) thread, over in the Pit.

However, as that thread is two and a half years old, and approaching 6K posts, I find the prospect of looking for the anecdote to be somewhat daunting. Can you narrow down the time frame some?
