So my wedding is just a few weeks away, and for a variety of very good reasons, I have yet to get a wedding ring. ( **CrazyCatLady** already has hers.) I’m looking for something simple but unique and not too expensive. I’ve seen some Celtic knot rings that I liked. I’m not particular about metals. Any suggestions? Dr. J ---

Congrats, Dr. J! I’ve always been a fan of the [Greek key rings](http://www.metalsmiths.com/gkey1.jpg), which is what my brother used when he got married. It’s plain, simple, and IMHO looks pretty cool. ---

I like jewelry with character, so I’d probably look at antique rings or a pawn shop. I chose an opal ring for my wedding ring. The symbolism of it appealed to me, I think. Happy wedding day! Best, karol ---

You might check out this site for [Celtic wedding rings](http://www.customceltic.com/celt-rings.htm) . I have to warn you that whoever designed that web site should be slapped around with a trout, repeatedly and without mercy. But the jewelry is beautiful, and they have a very wide selection of celtic knot designs. ---

**handy** , did they bother to say if that was 1/2 Carat TW (total weight) or one big honking half carat? If it’s TW it’s probably a buttload of diamond chips and other assorted crap in there. **Doctor J** , When **fizzy** and I went looking at rings, the best site we found was [zales.com](http://zales.com), which seems to have a pretty good combination of decent-quality stuff, decent prices and decent selection. My husband and I have stainless steel wedding bands. ( [Here](http://shop.store.yahoo.com/jmauer/halrouncomfi.html) is an example.) We love the idea: for us, stainless steel is the perfect metaphor for our relationship: durable, stainless, modern, and unconventional without advertising it as such. However, lots of people think it’s really weird, or, worse, cheap, which was never a motivation for us. ---
