I recommend Bantock’s luscious **Hebridean Symphony** of 1913, available in several versions on YouTube, or here…

Two songs popped into my mind. You’re probably familiar with both.

I think of these both as incredibly sing-along sorts of songs.

Please, if you just posted a band and no song, I’d really appreciate it if you would post your favorite song of theirs. It’s hard to just pick a random song and hope I like it. I try listeninig to their “best hits” but sometimes that’s not always the best.

If you like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, you could try Franz Ferdinand. IIRC, Pandora’s little summary called them “art damaged rock”, which I always found hilarious. [“Take Me Out”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ijk4j-r7qPA) is their most famous song; I also quite like [“Matinee”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8k-iy_tWtQ).
You mentioned husky/deep female voices - though she’s not exactly obscure, do you like Lorde? Everyone knows “Royals”, but my favorite from her is probably [“Buzzcut Season”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pstVCGyaUBM). Her lyrics are particularly good.

If you like KT Tunstall, just about guarantee that you will like the Cowboy Junkies album ‘The Trinity Session’ A Canadian alternative country/blues/folk rock band. They do a cover of Sweet Jane that is better than Lou Reeds original.

Since you’re already a fan of “Renegade” by Styx, I’d give the rest of their catalog a look-see. I particularly like the _Pieces of Eight_ and _Paradise Theater_ albums. “Queen of Spades”, “Blue Collar Man (Long Nights),” and “Snowblind” are some of my favorite songs. (But I have like 26 songs on my Favorite Styx Songs playlist alone).
