It was a call for funny videos which had gotten a fair number of responses when somebody(lets say Poster X) posted that all the videos thus far were not funny. When asked to provide funny videos of their own instead of dissing everyone else’s choice, Poster X linked to a couple of Star Trek TNG parodies. I’m trying to find that thread but failing. Anyone else remember it?

No clue.

Though we can always work backwards, were the TNG parodies about data and a horse painting?

Thanks for responding! I _think_ one was about Riker being gay for Picard, or maybe the other way round. I think the poster who linked to them just said something along the lines of “How about this or this” I could be mis-remembering.
ETA: Oh, and the parodies used clips from the original show. The voice acting _may_ have been redone, but I think it was just cleverly spliced together clips.

From your description of the video, I think it’s [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=614861&page=3) (post 139)

This has been bugging me for days, it actually feels like a load off my mind. Thank you!
