OK. I don’t have a lot to go on, but let’s try anyway. While on vacation in Mexico in Feb 2003, there was a popular song (American, I believe) that they played alot pool side. The part of the song I remember most is a sort of high pitched “Whup! Whup!” that came up every so often…all of the young staff around the pool would sing that part… I would really like to find that song but can’t seem to come up with a name… any ideas? ---

“Let’s All Chant” by the Micheal Zager Band has a repeated hook that sounds like that, but its from the 70’s- perhaps someone sampled it? ---

There was a young rap duo (named “Criss Cross”, I think) that had a song in which they said “What-what” or something that like. Might’ve been around the same timeframe you’re talking about. I’m not a rap expert, by any stretch, so take that for what it’s worth. ---

[/QUOTE] A group called Gusto remade this song recently. I can’t find the song on YouTube, but I remember it. (There is a clip in this mix [here](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec4ZrT8E7Oo) somewhere.) I bet that’s the song you mean. It appears on dance compilations. [Here](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRGrywhqyu0) is a mix by DJ Valium as well. I found the [version](http://cgi.ebay.com/Gusto-Lets-All-Chant-CDS_W0QQitemZ330100297020QQcmdZViewItem) I mean for sale on E-bay. If it had the feel of DJ Valium’s mix, but with a bit more disco to it, than it’s Gusto’s version.
