Once at a small neighborhood bar in Baltimore, I sampled a delicious liquor or liqueur (not sure which) which apparently was a house specialty. The bartender told me it was of Lithuanian origin and called “verita” (that’s phonetic, I don’t know the actual spelling). I’ve never tasted, nor heard of, it since. Can anyone tell me more about it? Where might I find some?

[Make your own!](http://stcasimirs.com/recipies/Viryta.htm)

A quick Goolging on [lithuanian liqueur](http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=lithuanian+liqueur&meta=) revealed that the spelling is actually **Viryta** (also known as **Krupnikas** ).

It’s actually not a liqueur but a _cordial_ = something you whip up yourownself from hard spirits (often 190° grain alcohol) and flavorings. In this case, a boggling array of spices and a whole _quart_ of honey.
