Unfortunately, I’m very sketchy on the details – It’s a car commercial a big, black auto of some kind hurtling down moody, darkened city streets. Then there’s that catchy bass line … DUM-dum dum-dum-dum-dum-DUM-dum DUM-dum-dum-dum-DUM-dum … There don’t seem to be any lyrics except the distant sound of someone shouting something like “fire in the hole!” before the distorted guitar comes crashing in. Can anyone help me out? ---

Surely you aren’t talking about Led Zeppelin’s _Rock and Roll_ in the Cadillac commericals? ---

I’m positive it’s not Led Zeppelin. It’s something much newer. As I said, there aren’t really any lyrics in the song … mostly this bouncing bass line. And “Rock and Roll” doesn’t fit that description (that one’s mostly Robert Plant screeching over cymbal crashes). ---

I can hear the song in my head. The ‘fire in the hole’ part really helped. I _think_ it’s a Lancer commercial but I’m sure I’m probably wrong. If it is, here’s [the link to Mitsubishi’s site](http://www.mitsubishicars.com/company/music/index.html) that lists the music played in their commercials. ---

Ooh, could it be [“Horndog” by Overseer?](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000068R1L/qid=1081365881/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl15/102-0644279-6366510?v=glance&s=music&n=507846) It’s song 5 on that Amazon page. What’s funny is that the lyric is something like “Hit it with your horndog” and I got it (if right) immediately from “fire in the hotel”. Also, the album is decent but Horndog is by far the catchiest song therein. ---

Oh, poo. That one WAS on the Mitsubishi page, which I just looked at. I still think there’s a chance it could be right, though. ---

**Spurious George** , actually that might be it, but it would have to be from a part of the song not featured in the sample. Does anyone know the song? Is there a bit with a lengthy bouncing bass line? ---

There’s also a Van Halen song (I believe it’s VH?) called Fire In the Hole, if that helps at all. ---

I did a quick check through the site and found that there’s a Mitsubishi Galant commercial called “city streets.” If that’s the one, the song is **Do You Realize** by _The Flaming Lips._ I can’t verify, as I’ve never seen the commercial. Okay… I just listened to that song, I don’t think that’s it. ---
