I was watching a “Family Affair” episode on Hulu today (don’t judge–revisiting my childhood!) and in one scene, Jody had children’s book with a big egg on both the front and the back covers. The title was masked off, so I couldn’t see it. I had this exact same book when I was a little kid (the episode was from the late Sixties) but I can’t remember anything else about it. Huh. It looks close, but the one I’m thinking of is larger (see the image in the screen shot). Little Golden Books were smaller. Maybe they reproduced the larger book as a smaller version? The cover does look quite similar. ---

Looks like it’s been reprinted several times since 1947. Different sizes and covers. Check Ebay. ---

I think we have that book up in the closet somewhere.
