# Help me install this php thing... please?

I’ve done step 1 and put the table stuff in my mySQL database. I can’t figure out step 2. Step 3 looks pretty obvious.
I’ve filled out the blanks in step 2 ([http://www.sim-php.info/mysql-connection-tutorial.php](http://www.sim-php.info/mysql-connection-tutorial.php)) for user/pass/database but I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with this resulting chunk of code. Nor the one below it. Do I save them as files and put them somewhere? How do I reference them? Do I put them inline in the page? that seems bad as they contain passwords. What do I do? Halp!

Do you know of any other X many people are on this site" scripts that don’t? That would work on a php site? Actually, I’ll start a new thread for that.
