Being the romantic I am, I’m making a mix of songs about, uh, crazy love. That means they can be actual love songs that are actually very creepy (like The Bangles’ **Eternal Flame** or The Crystals’ **He HIt Me (and it felt like a kiss)** ) or songs about dysfunctional love (Paul Anka’s **Crazy Love** or The Ink Spots’ **You Always Hurt the One you Love** ). Any suggestions? ---

**Men and Women** by Uncle Bonsai (or possibly **Doug Engaged** , sung from the point of view of a bitter ex-girlfriend) **Valentino’s** or **Spray** by The Bobs **I Hold Your Hand in Mine** by Tom Lehrer If you want to do a theme section, go with **Be My Yoko** (The Bobs, again), **Be My Yoko Ono** (Barenaked Ladies) and **I Won’t Be Your Yoko Ono** (Dar Williams) And if you’re going to use **You Only Hurt the One You Love** , it really should be the Spike Jones version. ---

Ooh, one of my favorite topics! (I do a fair amount of work as a wedding DJ, and some of the “non-love” love songs that end up as first dances always amaze me.) Every Breath You Take - Police (Hellooo, stalker!) When a Man Love a Woman - Percy Sledge (All about the crappy things men endure from the women they love.) Into the Night - Benny Mardones (1970’s one-hit wonder. File under “Love songs for jailbait.” Right next to Jerry Lee Lewis.) Killing Me Softly - Roberta Flack (Lovely, but creepy IMHO.) I Will Always Love You - Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston (Might not fit your topic, but it’s about the end of a romance.) She Will Be Loved - Maroon 5 (All about an unstable woman and her faithful stalker?) I’ll Be - Edwin McCain (“I’ll be your love suicide?” Whu?) ---

**I’m Your Man** by Leonard Cohen is pretty creepy. Not that that stops me from finding it one of the sexiest songs I’ve ever heard. I guess the same could be said for The Stooge’s **I Wanna be your Dog.**. (I’m going to have them played at my wedding.)
