Well, if you buy into the analogy that lawyers=sharks, you could name him **J.D.** - as in “Doctorate of Jurisprudence” - which lawyers get to put behind their names. (No offense meant lawyer dopers - some of my best friends are lawyers…) ---

How about “Zoltar, Destroyer of Worlds, Swollower of Souls, and Friend to Puppies, **Esq.** ”? Or “Delm Korval”, but that might not sound regal to one who doesn’t know where it’s from… 🆒 ---

Ooh, ooh, I know. Name him **Hobbes**. You could play endless games of Calvinball or Rojoball or whatever you play in your leisure time with him. He could follow you around and bite your enemies. Get him a leash and let him _slorp, flop, squish_ his way down the sidewalk and scare little kids. This all assumes that the shark is a “he”. If it’s a “she” then this obviously won’t work. ---

Sorry to everyone coming to this thread to look at shark names: this is a HIJACK. Everyone but **Slainte** please feel free to ignore me. [sub][sup]So, **Slainte** , as I was saying. **Pablo** has been my ‘pet name’ (in more ways than one) for a long time now. It originates in some Notorious B.I.G. song where the line goes ‘…cats named Pablo…’ meaning the slang term of ‘cats,’ of course, for people. Several years ago, around the time that song was popular, a friend of mine was naming a new cat, and I suggested that name, and it took. Ever since then I’ve seized upon it as the best name to name pets, and it just sort of grew from there. So that’s the story; I’m glad the name has made you happy. I don’t understand why more people don’t feel the same way we do. People on the board have actually had some pretty hostile reactions to my suggesting it in the past, but I’m glad that the name has at least one other fan.[/sub][/sup] And now I’d like to return you to your regularly scheduled shark-naming thread. ---
