Natalie Portman seems to be doing all right.
Elijah Woods and Sean Astin are also fine, as are the main Harry Potter kids.

I think @griffin1977’s emphasis was on how they end up, not whether they were messed up for a certain period of time before getting their act together. But I might be putting words in their mouth.
Oopsie. I just now realized that @griffin1977 made post #13 and post #20. I thought post #20 was someone else.
I are a idiot. Ignore me.
Years ago I started a thread about all of the child stars that weren’t screwed up. There are a lot of them.
Here’s my advice: keep busy doing something entirely different. For example, get involved in helping others. Habitat For Humanity, work in a soup kitchen, organize a protest. Take up twelve-string guitar. Run a marathon.
Because obsessing over people who are, for all practical purposes, as imaginary as a character in a novel, is unhealthy. He doesn’t know you exist, and nothing you do affects him or ever will. Move on.
Would that also work if I’m obsessing over evil politicians?
I don’t think it could hurt. But evil politicians are real, in that they most certainly do affect your life. Actors just act out stories for the entertainment of others. They are extremely unimportant. I don’t understand why anyone would care about the personal lives of actors unless they are engaging in some heinous immoral activity that colors your ability to enjoy the stories they are acting.
Ulfreida, I hope you’re not confusing me with the late voguevixen. I’d forgotten about this thread until it popped up again. I’m okay now! Seriously, what I’m focused on is my husband’s birthday, later this week. If we go out to eat, will there be time for me to make those lava cakes? I’m making the lava cakes; that’s what he likes. Should we watch a movie, or play a board game? I know he’ll like his presents, at any rate. Plus, there’s the passing of Pope Francis. I’m not Catholic, but it’s interesting to hear the speculation about who will replace him. (Now I’ve got to watch Conclave! Maybe the library has it.) There, is that normal enough for you?
Also, what was bothering me was not so much some actor’s morals, but the idea that someone whose work I enjoy might see his job offers dry up, and then he doesn’t show up on streaming services for me to watch. I would be bummed, the same way I was bummed when the BBQ place near here changed ownership, and now they don’t have the fresh-cut, skins-on fries that I was hooked on. I was worried that a product I like might become unavailable. And people get bummed out about that all the time.
I’m happy you’re feeling better about this.
If he drops off the planet(as in no more movie roles) you can always go back to your favorites.
I suggest waiting a bit. To gain more perspective.
Of course that’s excessive.
