One future game that’s supposed to be like system shock is bioshock. Due to be released this august.
Well first off when you start a game Gnarl tells you about how some hereos having killed your predecessor and trashed the throne room so right there it’s clear you’re either totally new to this or from a long time ago. Later at the very end It’s revealed that the hero Wizard is actually the former Overlord having stole your body after you were nearly killed in a fall and he’s been corrupting the other six heroes ever since while you filled his role. You were one of the seven heroes before this.So…there you go.
