I really, really hate naming myself on-line. Once upon a time, it felt like an exercise in freedom - choose my own identity! Escape the shackles my parents placed on me! Now it just makes me feel anxious. I’m not clever. I’m not witty. I’m not brave. And so I end up with stupid names like WhyNot, which I earned after trying for several other usernames, and finding none of them available. “Why not?!” I shouted at the SDMB. And so I was dubbed. Help me avoid such stupidity again. It’s time for a new email acount, and I need naming help. I don’t want my IRL name to be a part of it, which is the default it keeps trying to give me when my choice is unavailable. ---

Given your delightful and right-thinking stance in public nudity, I feel compelled to help. What subject matter would you like your email name to refer to? Once I have that, you will have a dozen suggestions at least as clever as my own humble SDMB username. ---

Well, I already have a “professional” email which contains my IRL name. This is one for personal use, so it can be quirky, fun or clever. Or not. I just literally cannot think of a thing. Yep, I support a clothing-optional lifestyle for those who would so choose. I’m a crunchy granola hippie chick leftwing flaming liberal neofeminist (except when compared with my friends - then I suddenly seem almost fascistly conservative in comparison.) I like gardening, reading, theater - performing or viewing, writing and scifi movies and genre television. I’m also a neopagan, but mix ‘n’ match pagan names like Darkwing Silvermoon Runningwolf annoy the piss out of me. Why do I suddenly feel like I’m writing a personal ad? 😃 ---

So far I like FlamingHippie the best. Prob’ly best not to emphasize the sexuality, as this email will be used by family, including children. But the thought of telling my far-right conservative in-laws my email address is FlamingHippie makes me tingle in a good way! 😃 **Gum** , what’s Abre los ojos mean? Or do I not want to know? ---

You could use “[donthaveone@whatever.com](mailto:donthaveone@whatever.com)” That way when someone asks your email address, you can say “don’t have one.” Yeah, I got nothing. Carry on. ---
