At least that’s about the time frame I recall. The protagonist is a person in a jet pack. From your POV, you’re looking at his back and various things are coming toward him. You can turn him right, left, up, down to combat them.

Each level had some title. The only one I can remember though was “Parms.” And there was an end of the game, something like 30 or so levels, and that was it.

The last foe was like a flying dragon that would come toward you, then retreat into the background, and come toward you again.

I could have sworn it was a SEGA game, but none of the names on their website look familiar.

I took a WAG that maybe there’s a video game version of The Rocketeer, and there is. Maybe that? But it looks like it was only on the Nintendo side.

Space Harrier?

> **[Space Harrier](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Harrier)**
>
> Space Harrier\[a\] is a third-person arcade rail shooter game developed by Sega and released in 1985. It was originally conceived as a realistic military-themed game played in the third-person perspective and featuring a player-controlled fighter jet, but technical and memory restrictions resulted in Sega developer Yu Suzuki redesigning it around a jet-propelled human character in a fantasy setting. The arcade game is controlled by an analog flight stick while the deluxe arcade cabinet is a cockpit...

Stage 11 is called Parms:
