The Book of Ultimate Truths. Not the novel, The Book of Ultimate Truths. The Book of Ultimate Truths from The Book of Ultimate Truths, the work of Hugo Artemis Solon Saturnicus Reginald Arthur Rune. All of the various pun-themed books from Chris Addison’s radio series The Ape Who Got Lucky. Seconded: The Rules of Acquisition, of course. The Grasshopper Lies Heavy. The book The Man in the High Castle is about a man in a reality where the Nazis won the war who writes a book about a reality where the Nazis lost but so did Russia and now Britain and America are in a cold war for global domination. This is that book. ---

Bumped. > [@Elendil\_s\_Heir](#): > > …Paul Sheldon’s potboiler series included _Misery’s Child, Misery’s Love, Misery’s Quest, Misery’s Hobby_ (a pornographic spoof, privately printed and distributed to just a dozen friends of the author’s, in which the heroine cheerily engages in bestiality), and of course _Misery’s Return_. The novel _Fast Cars_ was Sheldon’s attempt to break out of the Misery mold… In the movie _Misery_, but not the book, Sheldon’s first novel after escaping from Annie Wilkes was _The Higher Education of J.
