I love making creative playlists on my Ipod, and the other day I thought, how about one of Beatles cover songs? I already have a few on my computer, but not enough to make a good playlist. Here’s what I have so far: The soundtrack to I Am Sam. “With a Little Help” by Joe Cocker “Lucy in the Sky” by Elton John “Yesterday” by Boyz II Men “Let it Be” by BeatleJazz “Got to Get You Into My Life” by Earth, Wind and Fire “Come Together” by Aerosmith I’d like to include as many different music styles as possible, so suggestions from different eras, like the 80s, would be especially appreciated. Thank you. ---

The soundtrack to Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Aerosmith version of Come Together is pretty good and Steve Martin doing Maxwell’s Silver Hammer is fun. The best version of Yesterday is by Ray Charles. ---

One of the _best_ Beatles covers, ever, is _Tomorrow Never Knows_ by Danielle Dax off of her _Blast the Human Flower_ CD. Great album, too, BTW. Laibach also did a cover of almost the entire _Let It Be_ album (minus the title track for some reason), that’s just bizarro good. ---

It contains gems such as Robin Williams and Bobby McFerrin doing “Come Together”, Jim Carrey doing “I Am The Walrus” and Sean Connery doing “In My Life”. It’s not as bad or weird as it sounds. It’s got some surprisingly great music on it. ---

There are way too many Beatles covers that sound very similar to the original. Those bore me. Covers should be different. Like: Depeche Mode - Dressed in Black Stereo Total - Tu Peux Conduire Ma Bagnole (Drive my car) Pain - Eleanor Rigby ---

_Beatle Country_ by the Charles River Valley Boys. I’ve got the 1966 LP by this Boston-based bluegrass/old timey group. Now available on CD. Excellent versions of a dozen Beatle tunes. ---

“I am the Walrus” by Lol Cohill. The weirdest song ever. “You Can’t Do That” by Harry Nillson. The cleverest Beatles cover ever. Not only a cover of the title song, but of about 20 other Beatles songs, too. The Beatles loved it. Vanilla Fudge gave their trademarked “slow and heavy” treatment to “Eleanor Rigby” ---
