I’ve also read that some of the songs on it were supposed to be included on **The Wall** but they ran out of room.
In the bathroom in The Wall movie, Pink is reading a poem which would later become lyrics in a TFC song. (To the best of my knowledge: I’ve only seen the movie once  ) ---
He sings a few lines from a Pros and Cons of Hitchiking song.
In the bathroom? I am pretty sure he sings (or says) some lines from TFC in the bathroom. Can’t remember which song though. Just saw that _The Piper at the Gates of Dawn_ 40th anniversary 3 CD set is coming out. That might be a good thing to pick up, **tdn**. ---

Not much love here for Roger. I love Radio KAOS and thought Amused to Death was fantastic. What can I say, I’m a sucker for concept albums that tell a story. The Wall is my all time favorite album. 25 years after I first said that my tastes and my ear have evolved and changed but am still blown away by the scope of it. Same with Tommy by the Who, when’s the last time somebody said I’m writing a rock opera and pulled it off? ---
I can’t believe this thread has got to post #1 without mentioning _Meddle_. Please listen to this album. It’s good.
It’s the _best_, Jerry! The _best_! ---

Just saw that _The Piper at the Gates of Dawn_ 40th anniversary 3 CD set is coming out. That might be a good thing to pick up, **tdn**.
I just watched the scene and we are both right. Some lyrics from the Final Cut: _Do you remember me? The way we used to be? Do you think we should be closer?_ And from the Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking: _And I reach out my hand just to touch your soft hair, To make sure in the darkness that you are still there, And I have to admit I feel just a little afraid…_ Looking for that scene reminded me what a piece of shit the Wall DVD is. Not the movie itself, that’s fine. But the menu on the DVD is crap. You can’t choose a scene by song title, all it gives you are numbers. And you have to go through several otions starting from about a third of the songs and then down to a selection of three, all with no names. Then you find you’ve guessed the wrong number so you have to start again. ---

I loved **The Final Cut**. Get it. This seems a good place to repeat what I mentioned in the Funny Sign thread: Some years ago in Pokhara, Nepal, I came across the Comfortably Numb Guesthouse. [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/help-me-update-my-floyd-collection/419867.md?page=1)
