Miss Havisham’s cake would be interesting. But Great Expectations, forced down my throat in high school, is the book that made me hate, hate _ **hate** _ Dickens. ---

I think Kafka’s _The Metamorphosis_ would be an interesting cake, especially after the bug had the apple imbedded in his back. Nice way to present chocolate cake, too, with some red fondant for the apple. Tasty and gross at the same time. 🙂 ---

Sorry to bump again, I just wanted to let y’all know we got the cookies and they were yummy! I meant to post a picture, but that would have involved keeping the box away from the wolf pack (aka kids) while my daughter charged her camera, and it just didn’t happen. We tore open the box and NOM NOM NOM. 🙂 My favorites were the cranberry oatmeal. ---

His whiskers were bits of spaghetti. Algy himself, as well as the flowers, the cake covering, and the tombstone, were made out of fondant. The brown maze and the trim are buttercream icing. The cake underneath was chocolate. ---

[Cthulhu Rising](http://www.ozones.com/postbros/images/cthulhu.jpeg). You could do a Lovecraft cake, Cthulhu rising out of the ocean (of jello) with a small fondant boat being tossed upon the waves. Or faceless nightgaunts crowding around the bed of an innocent sleeper… ---

Cool cake! I wish I’d caught this thread the first time around, I would have suggested a little marzipan Moses parting a cake Red Sea for the book of Exodus. I’d eat that. Tell me: do all the cakes at these competitions get eaten? I have a hard time imagining some of those works of art being destroyed and devoured. In my case the folks in the breakroom devoured it. They’ll eat anything. I’m on a strict diet(Not helped by actually being a professional baker!) and didn’t want to take it home with me. ---
