# Help me with Monkey Island!

Hi there all! This is my first thread ever! I’m flushed with excitement.

Ok, as far as computer games go, I’m a little behind the times. I really enjoy solitaire and Snood. But I have a special place in my heart for the Monkey Island series. User friendly, cute graphics, humor tunes. 😃 I’m currently **stuck** at a spot in the third installment, The Curse of Monkey Island–I have the map and Haggis and Cutthroat as crew, but I can’t get any further. I think I’m supposed to catch one of the feral chickens or something.

Can someone **please** help me figure out what to do next? I don’t wanna know how to beat the whole game (yet), but I just want to get farther than my brother–the gaming king. Thanks a whole lot! 😃

The walkthroughs linked to should, of course, be read with caution. I don’t remember the game clearly, but I do recall the manner in which I got the map making me absolutely cringe.

In other words, you need to get Eddie Van Helgen to sign on and then you need to get yourself a ship… and reclaim Elaine.

I’m assuming you’ve exhausted all conversation with Eddie, so you know you need to challenge him to a duel. Do you happen to remember how they used to do that?

As for the ship, well there’s only one that you can actually get to. Have you seen it yet?
