you win a charged battery.
Charger/adapter for B & D 9089 drill (i.e.418337-06) gives 8 volts AC output @ 250Ma. Since there is a diode inside the drill (charging circuit) so it is half-wave rectification, i.e giving about 4 volts dc to charge the battery. You may be able to use any 4 to 5 volts DC output adapter with the same or higher amp rating, which fits the receptacle in the drill. The matter of negative/positive side has already been addressed in previous posts.
