Hi **icekimi** , welcome to the board.

You’ll have a lot more luck if you tell us what this is for. This board has a strict “no doing homework for people” policy, and people are going to be reluctant to respond if they think you’re just trying to avoid doing your homework.

Since like looks like work that was assigned to you, you might not get help from the posters here.

Generally, we help, but don’t give direct answers to school work (classroom work, assignments, homework) and tests/examinations.

Without answering any of the questions, (3) isn’t good English with any of the choices, and at least three and possibly all four of the choices are valid for (4), which seems to be more about ecology than English. Perhaps the OP should feed this back to his teachers. 🙂

The questions do have correct answers - they aren’t tricks or anything.

It does seem like some of them are a little bit forced, maybe because the author was struggling to construct the examples. Or maybe the author isn’t a native English speaker either (see: “getting down my blood pressure” rather than “bringing down”).

OK, now\* that \* question can’t be answered, because the whole thing is ungrammatical. Depending on how you fix the question, you could come up with any one of the answers.

You need to tell your teacher to learn better English. None of those choices are correct for the question you just posted.

No, for the last one, the answer _should_ be “will be cut”, which isn’t one of the options. All the options are equally wrong. And “at near future” should be “in the near future”.

No. ‘are being cut’ is present tense, ‘will be cut’ is future tense.

“Are being cut” is present tense. It means it is happening right now.

“Will be cut” is future tense. It means it is not happening yet, but it will be.

There is no way to pick a correct answer to that question without changing the question. I don’t think your teacher’s English is worse than yours but it might not be much better.

As others have said, we don’t do homework for people. But I like being helpful, so I’ll correct the questions:

(1) The doctor advised me to take this kind of medicine because it has\_\_\_\_\_ **reducing** high blood pressure.
A. an effect on B. some effect on C. the effect for D. the effect of
(Hint: One correct answer.)

(3)Could you please recommend a present for my girl friend’s birthday,\_\_\_\_\_ **is** at **a** reasonable price but of great use?
A. that B. one C. which D. what
(Hint: Two correct answers, one of which is a better choice.)

(4)Animals can become unusually\_\_\_\_\_ when they are upset by a sudden environmental change.
A. aggressive B. progressive C. active D. productive
(Hint: Two answers are reasonable, but one is better than the other.)

(5)It is reported that in western countries over on **e** million couples have their marriage\_\_\_\_\_ every year.
A. dissolved B. departed C. deserted D. distrusted
(Hint: One correct answer.)
