# Help Remembering Old Horror Film

I remember watching this movie on TV in the 1970s. I think it was black and white, but I’m not positive. There were little crystal-type things that would eat through you, and at the end of the movie a man (I think the main bad guy) was on a small boat and drank out of a cup. Inside the cup was one of the deadly crystal things, and I remember watching in horror as his innards spilled out. That’s about all I remember.
I know it’s not much to go on but I thought I’d give the Dope a try.

Much of your description applies to _The Flesh Eaters_ (1964), but not quite the way you described it.

I was coming in to say the same thing.
The way the Flesh Eaters in their “crystal” stage looked was pretty distinctive – they _actually punched little holes in the original film_, so the things looked like little “whiter than white” dots.
I’d read about this film in _Famous Monster_ before it came out, then never got a chance to see it for years – I don’t recall it playing in any theaters, it never showed up on TV, and I never saw it on VHS. Finally, a couple of years ago I bought a copy on DVD over the internet.

That’s it! Thank you so much for the YouTube link. I watched the whole thing and my memory wasn’t quite right but this is certainly the film I remember. Loved watching it!
