Interestingly, I accidentally clicked on ‘‘Teen for God’’ first, and was absolutely floored by how accurately she described my religious adolescence and post-adolescent spiritual disillusionment. Nothing wrong with uptempo! I didn’t make it clear in the OP, but I’m actually doing one playlist of ballads and one playlist of fast songs. I’m actually having a harder time with the fast/uptempo songs than the ballads. So far on my list I’ve got stuff like **All the Small Things** - Blink 182 **Automatic** - Weezer (a contender, not really about mature love–I just really like that song) \*\*Shut Your Eyes \*\*- Snow Patrol \*\*These Days \*\*- Alien Ant Farm **Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground** - White Stripes **Somewhere Only We Know** - Keane **Limón y sal** - Julieta Venegas Uh, yeah, this is hard. Whenever I tell someone about Dar Williams, they _always_ find a song that was written “about them”! I find her amazing like that, as well as just incredibly talented. ---

John Prine has a whole album of such songs, **In Spite of Ourselves**. Tbe title cut is the best–husband and wife don’t have a lot of illusions about each other and find one another’s disgusting habits almost endearing–but the whole album is full of gems like “We’re Not the Jet Set” and “In a Town This Size.” ---

“Hey Julie” by Fountains of Wayne “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz “Born to Be My Baby” by Bon Jovi “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty “Life, In A Nutshell” by The Barenaked Ladies It’s practically impossible to find a Bruce Springsteen song that’s about love in _good_ way, but we settled on “Luckytown” for the wedding playlist because by god we were going to play Bruce Springsteen.
