Can anyone recommend a good book or website for learning about current world events (and maybe even world history in a nutshell)?

Let’s pretend I’ve just woken up from a 10-year old coma and want to catch up on a relatively unbiased version of events.

I haven’t necessarily been in a coma, but my eyes tend to glaze over the instant I hear the words “conflict in the middle east”, so I’ve been avoiding news in general for a while.

Thanks, Dopers!

You should probably watch Fox News Channel for a couple of weeks. That’ll bring you up to speed.
