Help! We found an owl. It looks healthy but not flying.

Owl say!

:frowning: The owl did not make it through the night. :frowning: I’m going to give the body (and anything that touched it) to the conservation department today, on the off chance they want to do an epidemilogical study. Based on where I found it tough, it was probably hit by a car.
:frowning:

Awww, sorry to hear the bad news. But if it’s any consolation, you provided him with a quiet safe place for him to spend his last hours. Better that than freezing cold on the side of the road.

Christopher, so sorry about the owl. You did your best to try to help him. :frowning:

i’m sorry to hear that. poor little guy.

i’m glad y’all brought him in and gave him a nice place for his last hours.

Sorry, I know that crappy feeling. I tried to save a couple of baby possums a few years ago. I fed them canned milk from an eyedropper, put them in a shoebox w/ a heating pad underneath, but they didn’t make it through the night. I was hopeful, because they ate well, but they were very tiny, probably not more than a day or two old. The mother was hit by a car near my house and I found them clinging to her.
