# HELP!  Who did this song??  "Make My Day" - C. Eastwood

Ok, I’ve Googled and searched and can’t find this! It was on country music stations AGES ago…it included sound clips of Eastwood’s famous, “Go ahead punk, make my day.”

Some of the lyrics were:  
“Oh, I love to hear him say, ‘Go ahead and make my day.’”  
“Smith, Wesson and him just surrounded them…”  
“‘Go ahead, punk. Make my day.’”

Any help out there? Anyone? Bueller…? Bueller…?

_Make My Day_ written by Dewayne Blackwell, recorded by [T.G. Sheppard](http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDMISS70405022206240831&sql=Bo4320rnar48z), with Clint Eastwood. It reached #64 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1984.

You’re conflating lines from two seperate movies. _Sudden Impact_ had the famous “Go ahead, make my day” line (actually used twice in the film, and while it works the first time at intimidating the punk, the second time Eastwood uses it, the baddies start shooting at him, apparantly eager to make his day), while the original _Dirty Harry_ had the “most powerful handgun in the world” speech, which ended with the rhetorical “you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?”

Harry uses _that_ line twice, too. The first time, a would-be bank robber backs down and it turns out Eastwood’s gun was empty. The second time, Scorpio goes for his weapon and finds out (too late) that Eastwood’s gun… wasn’t.

The lines were conflated in the song (Eastwood actually recorded them in the studio, I believe)…  
I realize they were different in the movies.
