what is sympatric speciation??

my friend has a biology exam tomorrow and i’m helping study…i know nothing about bio though. thanks!

Sympatric speciation is speciation tht occurs without the two species ever at any stage being isolated from each other.

It’s purely hypothetical and never known to actually happen.
