Help with car headlight bulb NAF

Yes, that’s it, because as I posted that I was leaving my house and was hoping I could get a definitive answer while I was out so, if needed, I could stop by and pick one up.

We are in a severe weather situation and I didn’t want to get out in it any more than necessary.

I confess that a local Middle Eastern chain of restaurants named Naf Naf crossed my mind.

That’ll light up yer insides, huh?

Follow up - got a new bulb, didn’t help. Damnit.

Damn. Time to get the schematic out and dig in.

I did a quick search and was surprised that the headlights on these trucks are fused separately, one fuse for the driver’s side lamp and another for the passenger side. Obvious question, but is the fuse good? Any apparent damage to the wiring?

No apparent damage to the wiring. I did check the fuse box - but I didn’t notice that each lamp was fused separately. I’ll have to recheck that. Thanks for following up.

It looks to me like you have four fuses for your headlights:

11 Driver Side Low-Beam Headlamp
16 Passenger Side Low-Beam Headlamp
30 Passenger Side High-Beam Headlamp
32 Driver Side High-Beam Headlamp

A SOURCE IS A SOURCE, OF COURSE, OF COURSE

Thanks, I printed that out and will compare with my actual truck.

Still, if it were a fuse, you would think that one of the beams (high or low) would work, since they’re independent circuits and independent fuses.

Did you try both low and high beams with the new bulb?

You’d think three of the four would work. The only thing common is probably in the switch (often a steering column stalk) or in the switch block (whatever performs the high side toggling).

Both low beams and the driver hi beam all work.

So, fuse 30 or its associated wiring, it would seem.
