Dear cable/utility company: When I use your website to pay my bill, **take your damn money**! I paid my cable bill three days ago, so why hasn’t the money been taken out of my bank account? TAKE YOUR DAMN MONEY ALREADY! ---

To make it even more dystopian than it is, the billing seems to have two divisions working in parallel, but ones that do not communicate with each other. One division is the threatening, brandishing a birch rod, all-primed, ready ( and eager! ) to hurl admonitions if payment is not received the absolute nanosecond the day the bill comes due. The other division is the “we’ll check our mail or inbox every now and then for incoming payments, and when we do, we’ll apply payments to the various accounts…when we get around to it” department. ---

Two things- On the trip to Florida, my laptop’s fan once again became stuck. My SIL let me use her tools to open the case. But she is recovering from shoulder surgery and could not do it herself. The case came loose fine, except for one corner. I was trying to get that corner loose when it snapped off. It is minor and external damage only. I can fix it with electrical tape and duct tape over that. But, now I feel like an idiot and look like an even bigger idiot to my relatives. Eventually, I double checked the rubber feet on the case. There were screws hidden under them that I missed the first time I checked. Plus, once my computers and everything were set up on one end of the dining room table, we ate dinner on the other. During dinner, My work binder and papers fell on the floor. I was very worried because they fell near the dog’s pee pads. I cautiously picked things up. Everything was free of urine and feces- except one paper. Luckily, that paper had no necessary information printed on it. It did have the numbers of three offices we frequently refer callers to. My sister got out a pen and paper and wrote down the information. It has not been a good day computer-wise. ---

I haven’t had this part happen, as long as I pay the bill on time. It’s just the second part that I experience. The cable bill payment I mentioned didn’t clear until several days after I made that post. ---

County Snow plow drivers in your huge fatherfucking trucks I appreciate your endeavors to clear the streets but please stay the fuck off my concrete driveway. Listen there is a very convenient place to turn around if you feel so inclined rather than backing up. Its that turn around space in front of my house your people created decades ago, fucking use it. ---
