# Here's a depressing headline: 12 year old girl charged with murder

Do you think the girl did this without the influence of someone who was manipulative, strictly from her own machinations? Even as an adult, people do immoral and illegal things under the influence of maniplative agents. That does not make them fundamentally and irreversbly evil people from whom society is in dire need of protection.

So what we need is strict sentencing guidelines for 12 year olds, right Stephen Harper?

What a train wreck of a thread.

Sad to see people compounding a terrible situation by braying for the death penalty to be applied to a 12 year old.

Fortunately Canada’s Young Offenders laws weren’t written by a blood thirsty mob, and this girl has a chance at becoming a productive member of society after her punishment and counselling. Yeah, I know, her parents didn’t get that chance, yadda yadda, save those sentiments for your next lynching.

Oh and fuck the Calgary Sun as hard as possible. A combination of 2 of the worst things in Canada. Calgary, and the Sun Media group.
