How about:

Cows? It’s coming up to the end of the year, if we killed all cows and stored the meat, some would still be left come January. Pigs too.

Female calico cats can reproduce just fine. Male calicoes, in the rare event that they exist at all, all have a chromosomal abnormality of some sort or another, which makes it very likely (but still not quite certain) that they’re sterile.
